21st of March marks the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination and on this occasion the Canadian Commission for UNESCO launches an online campaign to raise awareness on the danger represented by the racial discrimination and the role we can play in eliminating this damaging scourge that affects the entire society.
The campaign focuses on the importance of intercultural dialogue as a tool against stereotypes and prejudices that may lead to racial discrimination.
Concept of the campaign – Meet. Discover. Share.
Meet a stranger, a neighbor, or a colleague, take a picture with him/her and share it on social media together with a story.
Discover – Learn something about the other person, culture, passions, hobbies.
Share – what you learn from this encounter or something else you want people to discover.
Invite other persons to take on the challenge! Tag @CCUNESCO on your post and use #ItStartsWithMe
The campaign takes place on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instargram) by sharing photos, videos, music, etc.
