Post Event Press Release
On Friday, 24
th of March 2023, Romanian Business School Foundation in cooperation with A.R.C. Metropolitan School organized the fourth edition of the event
OUR TARGET: UNDERSTANDING THE WORLD - Science & Tech Fair, a project initiated in 2019, for the schools from Bucharest. The edition from this year was one under
the patronage of National Commission of Romania for UNESCO and brought forth an increased number of attending school teams and students. More than 180 students in Bucharest, as well as from Ilfov and Argeș counties took part, presenting models, installations, experiments, applied science demonstration, in a festival of students’ creativity.
The teams organized the displays of an interactive presentation within which the most science and technology passionate students presented to their fellow students and to the teachers their experiments, models, digital projects they had created under the guidance of multidisciplinary teacher teams. The students proved that they can apply teamwork, that they know to independently create, following a scientific method and that they can publicly present the results of their little explorers’ expertise.
During the five hours of experience sharing, the participants benefited of workshops and presentations held by our partners The “Climato Sfera” Association, The Technical University of Civil Engineering of Bucharest, “Dr. Mioara Mincu” Theoretical High School. The “Fun Science” Association and “Orășelul Cunoașterii” (“The Knowledge Town”) enchanted us with _ _ _ magical experiments.
The raffle created moments of suspense.
Starting with this edition of our Art, Science & Tech Fair «Our Target: Understanding the World», An EXCELLENCE AWARD is established for researching abilities - Eng. FLORIN MUNTEANU AWARD. Mr. Florin Munteanu, Master President of the jury since the first edition, corresponding member of The Technical Sciences Academy, Bucharest, Romania, full member of Academy of Romanian Scientists, founding president of The Center for Complexity Studies:
It was a real show – a dynamic, colorful, enthusiastic, assumed and coherently and stage fright-less verbalized scientific content.
The study of current physics and chemistry’s limits, generating new hypothesis and exploring their consequences from a multi and transdisciplinary perspective is turning not only into a game, but also into a necessity.
From this perspective, I noticed several remarkable projects, such as: “The Influence of the Radiation on soil fertility, or “Study on the Movement of an Ink Drop in Oil”. Taking into consideration my own expertize in fundamental and exploratory research, I decided to commit to a mentoring activity for young students interested in abstract but essential approach in the context of the new studies regarding the Complexity of Nature.
This commitment will be materialized in an award, this time being offered to the team of students studying at “Gheorghe Corneliu” School in Domnești, Ilfov County, creators of the project “Study on the Movement of an Ink Drop in Oil”. The award consists in five online special training meetings. I pledge to award this prise every year, during this art, science and technology event, now its fourth edition.
The jury was composed of Eng. Florin Munteanu, founding president of The Center for Complexity Studies, Eng. Sorin Dinea, president of “Henry Coanda” Association, Eng. Mircea Manolescu, award winning at the Salon of Inventions in Geneva, Charles Berville, member of the “Climato Sfera” Association and researcher at The Technical University of Civil Engineering of Bucharest, Edouard Millot, trainer at “Climate Fresk”, Ramona Bandrabur, teacher at “Dr. Mioara Mincu” Theoretical High School, Ana Maria Roată Palade, founder of “Orășelul Cunoașterii” (“The Knowledge Town”), Ioana Iulia Huiduc Manolescu, founder of “Learn How to Fly” Association, trainer and master coach at “NLP Kutschera Resonanz” Romania.
For the teams on the first 5 places, according to the points given by the jury, The Romanian Business School Foundation offered individual voucher. More than that, special prizes were awarded by our partner organizations (workshops in the schools of the winning teams).
We look forward to the 2024 edition!
