Arts Education Week. The House of Romance – an Embassy of culture in Târgoviște.

The „Citadel of Romance” Cultural Center for UNESCO in Targoviste and the European Federation of Associations, Centers and Clubs for UNESCO (FEACU) initiated, in January 2018, the "House of Romance – an Embassy of Culture in Targoviste" National Project.
The project is dedicated to promoting the tangible and intangible heritage of Dâmbovița County, events and sites of great cultural, scientific, religious and touristic interest and is meant to contribute to capitalizing on the cultural-historical treasure of Dâmbovița County.
At the "House of Romance" Museum in Târgoviște, a unique museum space in Romania, there are organized regularly - in partnership with many institutions in Dâmbovița County, including Târgoviște City Hall and Local Council, Dâmbovița County Council, the Institution of the Prefect of Dâmbovița County, the Archbishopric of Târgoviște, the “Valahia” University of Târgoviște, the Dâmbovița County School Inspectorate, as well as with other interested institutions - artistic, scientific and cultural events meant to highlight Târgoviște and the county of Dâmbovița and to contribute to the identification of new opportunities for the promotion in the country and abroad of this wonderful historical area of Romania.
The „Citadel of Romance” Cultural Center for UNESCO in Târgoviște holds the artistic direction of the National Romance Festival "Golden Chrysanthemum" and organizes the events associated with the Festival, in which context the aforementioned program aims to organise cultural, scientific and diplomatic events at the highest standards.
Among the successful events organized within the program, we would particularly like to mention the EFUCA-UNESCO Interim Congress and the Conference "Youth and Museums" (young heritage specialists from 14 countries), the visit of a delegation from the European Commission (12 ambassadors of European states), National Culture Day, World Poetry Day (events with a program dedicated to young people).
At the same time, through this project of wide public interest, the „Citadel of Romance” Cultural Center for UNESCO in Târgoviște aims to continue promoting the Romance musical genre.
“We consider it our duty to honor this exceptional heritage that the municipality of Târgoviște and the county of Dâmbovița have as the organizers of the National Festival "Golden Chrysanthemum" and as a result of its uninterrupted service, for 50 years, dedicated to the Romance - as a musical genre of national cultural heritage.
