”Civilization at a crossroads” - Anniversary conference of ISCSC

"Dimitrie Cantemir" Christian University of Bucharest partners with the International Society for the Comparative Study of Civilizations (ISCSC) to organize between 2-4 September the 50th ISCSC Anniversary Conference, "Civilization at a crossroads", as an opportunity to encourage new research in the field of comparative study of civilizations, to share and develop new ideas and methods to address contemporary issues through a wide range of disciplines. Do today's civilizations still function through its classical "tools": religion, culture, environment and infrastructure?
The topics covered include:
* Comparative Legal Histories and Literatures; Comparative Culture, Art, Values, Religion, Language
* East, West and Globalization; Comparative Environmental Protection and the Survival of Civilization
* Comparative Scientific Principles, Economic and Political Systems
* What Constitutes “Wisdom” or “Justice” Among Disparate Civilizations?
* Constructive Engagements Among Civilizations
* Education as the Transmission of Civilization; Romania Between East and West
* Dimitrie Cantemir - The Golden Bridge Between Orient and Occident
Mrs. Madlen Șerban, Secretary - General of the National Commission of Romania for UNESCO, delivered a keyspeech on "Education and Learning: Challenges and Priorities on the UNESCO’s Agenda". "Dimitrie Cantemir" Christian University in Bucharest hosts a UNESCO Chair, since 2018: Human Rights Culture and Education for Sustainable Development in Preschool and Primary School Education.
