The initiator of this activity, Secondary School nr. 3 Voluntari- Pipera, reprezented by Mrs. Roxana Olariu and 2nd Grade A students, dedicated the whole week to biodiversity (21-25 May). The International Day of Biodiversity (May 22) was celebrated at the Zoological Garden in conjunction with the Special Secondary School St. Nicholas and representatives of the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences, the Department of Special Psychopedagogy. With great enthusiasm, the small participants discovered the animals, reptiles, birds and insects of the Garden, completing their knowledge of their environment and their way of life. The little explorers also made photos, which they discussed with their colleagues, families and friends.
This wonderful day was preceded by activities through which the teacher explained biodiversity as the variability of living organisms of all kinds from specific terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems. Thus students have learned about endangered or lost species and have made various drawings on the subject.
Children have understood that they have an important role in preserving and enriching natural habitats, fauna and flora, as they are part of these ecosystems. Their attitude to the environment is much more responsible now, completing their desire for knowledge and exploration.
International Day of Biodiversity was a real opportunity to open the mind and heart of the child towards Mother Nature.
