International Poetry Day marks the acknowledgement of the fact that men of letters, poets and writers all over the world have had a remarkable contribution to the universal culture and spirituality. Celebrating the International Poetry Day is meant to encourage a return to oral creation, to support poetry recitation.
On International Poetry Day, March 21st, the pupils from the 8th grade of the “Ioan Petruș” High-School in Otopeni will recite poetry and, above all, will share their own lyrical creations with the others. This is most welcome, since “poetry is the music of the soul and, in particular, of grand and sensitive souls,” as Voltaire said once. The best way to celebrate POETRY and POETS is to recite their poems, because “poetry maintains the balance between reason and body,” as poet Ion Mureșan said, in his volume titled “The winter book.”
