Metamorphosis XI - UNESCO Heritage, Legacy for the Future

Between 20th and 25th of June 2019, the National Commission of Romania for UNESCO, the European Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centers and Associations, Alumnus Club for UNESCO, Cygnus Center for UNESCO Suceava, in partnership with the City Hall of Karavas, Cyprus and Bucovina Museum, are organizing the 11th edition of the Metamorphosis project. Entitled UNESCO Heritage - Legacy for the Future, the project seeks to develop the intercultural dialogue through the knowledge and valorification of material and immaterial heritage, with all its diversity.
Among the important guests there are: Nicos Hadjistephanou, the mayor of Karavas – Cyprus; Francis Pang, the founder of the Beijing Concord College of Sino-Canada; Daniela Popescu, expert of the National Commission of Romania for UNESCO and president of EFUCA; Dan Milici, director of Cygnus Center for UNESCO Suceava.
An exhibition of traditional embroidery will be organized, the materials exposed being objects of the Cypriot national heritage. The vernissage of the exhibition will take place on 21
st of June, 16.00, at the Bucovina Village Museum. In the same day, it will be organized the official meeting with the mayor or Suceava, Mr. Ion Lungu. On the occasion of Mr. Pang’s participation there are going to be organized two work visits, at
Ștefan cel Mare University and at the
National College Petru Rareș. Starting with 22
nd of June, the following days are dedicated to visiting the Romanian objectives included in the UNESCO world heritage.
Through this project, the organizers seek to encourage the Romanian public to discover and understand the value of the Cypriot heritage, a heritage well preserved, but not widely known. At the same time, the organizers want to promote the world heritage of UNESCO from Romania, a very rich legacy, that represents an asset for Romania at international level.
