Naturweit journal sheet, in Tulcea
Article published on 19-02-2021
„The past weeks have been quite calm and winter came to Tulcea again. It still amazes me that weather changes quite quickly. We got a couple centimeters of snow, which made the city look very beautiful. But just after a week and with some warmer temperatures, most of the snow disappeared again.
We recently had a field trip to different Dobrogean areas with rivulets, where my colleagues took water samples. For me, it was awesome to see some of the areas in the winter. For example, we have visited a small, but nonetheless impressive, frozen water fall and a rivulet which flows into the Danube. Right before that, it gets wide, so most of the tree areas around it got flooded and there was still ice to see above the water line.
Last week, I had my midterm seminar with Kulturweit. It was nice to meet the other volunteers again, via Zoom, as well as reflect my experiences so far.
Right now I am working with the collection of the Danube Delta Eco-Tourist Museum Center, where I sort out some of the insect samples, which have been affected by the museum beetle. The goal is to move the samples in a new area without any potential bug larvae.„ – Noah Jost, Naturweit volunteer at the "Gavrilă Simion" Eco-Museum Research Institute in Tulcea
