Romania's National Commission for UNESCO (CNR UNESCO) organized on December 10, 2021, between 10.30 and 12.30, the online round table "Romania in UNESCO - Human Rights: universality and human dignity".
The celebration of the 65th anniversary of Romania's accession to UNESCO and the establishment of Romania's National Commission for UNESCO is an opportunity to address UNESCO's fundamental values and principles, including human rights and fundamental freedoms. A specialized agency of the United Nations, UNESCO focuses its efforts in this period of profound transformations, multiple crises, inequalities and disturbances on the universal and effective promotion and observance of human rights and fundamental freedoms, as enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
In this context, the event proposed by CNR UNESCO brings together representatives of governmental and non-governmental organizations, citizens and representatives of the business environment, thus trying to reflect the social and professional structure of society.
