The 41st regular session of the UNESCO General Conference

Between November 9-24, 2021, the 41st regular session of the UNESCO General Conference takes place, the most important intergovernmental event at the level of the Organization, which happens every 2 years. The General Conference is one of the 3 constituent bodies of UNESCO, together with the Executive Council and the Secretariat. It is also the most representative body, bringing together all 193 Member States. The General Conference shall establish the policies and main lines of work of the Organization, the programs and budget of UNESCO, elect the members of the Executive Board and those of other intergovernmental bodies of the Organization, and appoint the Director-General every four years.
Romania's declaration of national policies in UNESCO's spheres of competence was presented by Minister Sorin Cîmpeanu, the head of Romania's delegation to this session of the UNESCO General Conference and president of UNESCO Ro Natcom.
