The cultural Association „Călineștenii Țării Maramureșului” wins the international competition ”La Fabbrica nel Paesaggio”

Daniela Popescu, expert of the National Commission of Romania for UNESCO and president of the European Federation of UNESCO Club, Centers and Associations participated, in Italy, between 11th and 14th of October, to the 9th edition of the contest The Factory in the Landscape. The project is an initiative of Folignio and Valle del Clitunno UNESCO Club, part of the Italian Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centers and Associations.
The Factory in the Landscape in an important project which combines human activities and the preservation of the environment. The landscape and the environment are cooperating for the development of the local cultures and are an important part of the cultural and natural heritage, contributing both to the wellbeing of the places, and to the landscape consolidation.
The Romanian delegation was formed by representatives of the Museum of Viticulture and Pomiculture Goleşti, Alumnus Club for UNESCO and the Association Călineştenii Ţării Maramureşului, the latter representing as well Romania’s candidacy in the competition.
The project of the Călineştenii Ţării Maramureşului Association, "Restoration of the cultural space of the School of Ancient Roots, from Călineşti, Maramureş", won the International Award of the Competition, a distinction for involvement in the preservation of tangible and intangible assets, materialized by the traditional restoration of a wooden house respecting old shingle techniques.
