On the initiative of Kazakhstan and Romanian Federations of Clubs for UNESCO, the IV Asia-Europe Forum on Education “Sustainable Development in Our Society” will be held online on October 29-30, 2021. The main goal of the Forum is to analyze the interconnection of environmental, social, cultural, economic development and prosperity, as well as to exchange best practices on the integrative and inclusive role of education in promoting sustainable development in our society.
On this occasion, Mrs. Madlen Șerban, Secretary - General of the National Commission of Romania for UNESCO (UNESCO RO Natcom), congratulated the institutions that in 2021 are in their anniversary year. UNESCO celebrates 75 years, the World Federation of Clubs and Associations for UNESCO celebrates 40 years, the European Federation of Clubs and Associations for UNESCO (EFUCA) 20 years, the collaboration of the Asia-Pacific Federation of Clubs and Associations for UNESCO with EFUCA 10 years, the wonderful people of Kazakhstan celebrate 30 years of independence and, last but not least, Romania celebrates 65 years since joining UNESCO and establishing the UNESCO RO Natcom.
Mrs. Madlen Șerban underlined that for UNESCO RO Natcom the activity of clubs and associations for UNESCO is fundamental, appreciating that without the representatives of the civil society it would not be possible to achieve
the sustainable development of our society - the theme of this year's Forum. In fact, the High Level Conference organized by UNESCO RO Natcom on September 24-25, 2021,
"Education without borders for sustainable development", illustrates this vision. The Transforming Projects Fair, part of the Conference, was organized in accordance with Priority Action Area 5 "Accelerating actions at the local level", adopted on the occasion of the UNESCO World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development (Berlin, 17-19 May 2021).
