The writing contest ”Conversation with The Little Prince”

On the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the birth of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, UNESCO partners with Le CRI Learning Planet open alliance, the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Youth Foundation (FASEJ) and ”Labo des Histoires” Association to organize the writing contest ”Conversation with The Little Prince”, evoking the power of literature and imagination to face the unknown, to teach people to ”read” the world and discover it from a new perspective.
This competition is inspired by the poetic and philosophical tale "The Little Prince", the most well-known and translated piece of French literature in the world, and invites young people to reconnect with the rich imagination of the author. This time it is about imagining a conversation between a little girl and the Little Prince during the isolation generated by COVID.
The objectives of the competition are to :
- promote a taste for language and literature among children, adolescents and young adults under the age of 25;
- familiarize children, adolescents and young adults with creative writing;
- develop a taste for the work of Antoine de Saint Exupéry.
To participate in the writing contest, please submit your contribution using the online entry form. Before doing so, please read the rules of the competition, and take time to learn about the functioning of the jury and the rewards for the participants, finalists and laureates. The languages of the competition are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish. The competition is open to all young people born after 1 January 1995.
