In the second part of the first day of UNESCO’s Academy of Young Women, the participants had the opportunity to visit the headquarters of Genpact Romania, global BPO service provider. Ms. Crina Ilie, VP Human Resources, presented the programmes that Genpact implements worldwide to ensure women are represented at every organisational level.
These include subsidized kindergarten and after school programs for employees’ children, longer maternity and paternity leaves, the representation of both women and men on recruitment interview boards. The Professional Women’s Network movement has been presented as a great instrument in creating networks and mentor-mentee relationships among professional women. Through the Genpact India case study, the participants learned more about how cultural differences in global organizations can be turned from weaknesses to strengths.
