World Heritage Volunteers in Romania

The Romanian National Commission for UNESCO is delighted to present two brief videos highlighting the two World HeritageVolunteers initiatives hosted in Romania.
Thje first camp took place in Viscri, a site inscribed on the World Heritage list, from 8th to -18th of May, 2023. It featured participation from young volunteers representing Brazil, Cyprus, France, Italy, the United Kingdom of Great Britain, and Romania. The Mihai Eminescu Trust, the Foundation Alba Eglesia, and the Cultural Association Heritage for the Future organized the event with support from the local Viscri community.
The second camp, organized by the Association for UNESCO - Maria Foundation, unfolded between June 30th and July 14th, 2023. This gathering brought together international volunteers from 10 countries: Azerbaijan, Colombia, Egypt, Jordan, Italy, Morocco, Moldova, Turkey, Turkmenistan, and Romania. Over a two-week period, the participants had the unique chance to engage in workshops centered around the Monumental Ensemble of The Heroes' Path in Târgu Jiu, an element present on Romania's tentative list.
